Drawing by walking

Drawing by walking is a project started while hosted in residence in Japan (TWS/TOKAS Residency) and completed in Le Havre (Fort!). The principle consists in walking for a day in one of Tokyo districts and in producing a big drawing condensing this walk on the following day. Walking very slowly in the enclosed and limited space of a garden may be similar to a long walk in a vast space (Kamakura). The body crosses and produces the landscape. It is an unexpected outpouring of the line, an irruption of keen emotion allowed by a set of constraints.
